The writing bit without all the wordy things

It's been a while!
When I started this site I was on a bit of a writing high. I'd just finished editing a huge project, finished a novel, and a child gave me official permission to use the word "yeet". Since then, I have felt like I just... stopped writing. It's strange, because I'm still writing constantly. I'm just not comfortable in any of my worlds yet, and I've lost the sense of escapism it gives me.
This happens a lot, especially after emerging from a completed universe. Instead of feeling like some kind of fraud, I use the slump to start researching for my next story. This time I'm absolutely fascinated by the conquistador, explorer and murderer Lope De Aguirre. He encapsulates so much of the heroic that his depravities seem to come from the realms of fantasy. Don't get me wrong: Aguirre was a heartless wretch who deserved his rotten end, but his story still enthralls.
And the best kinds of story are the ones whose most unbelievable passages are fact.
